Check out this used vintage Music Man Sabre II, a rare and sought-after electric guitar originally manufactured between 1978 and 1980. This particular instrument has been fully tested and set up. It plays well, sounds great, and is in good overall condition. The electronics are fully functional, including the onboard preamp, which is a standout feature of this model. It comes with a hard shell case for safe storage and transport.

Condition:
The guitar shows signs of normal use, with dings, scratches, and finish wear visible throughout the body. These cosmetic imperfections are typical for an instrument of this age and do not affect playability or tone. Structurally and electronically, everything checks out.

Features:

  • Designed by Leo Fender and George Fullerton

  • Internal Active Preamp: Maintains tonal clarity regardless of volume level or cable length

  • Active 3-Band EQ: Independent volume, treble, and bass controls

  • Versatile Switching: Includes bright, phase reversal, and 3-way pickup selector switches

  • Pickups: Dual humbuckers with a tone reminiscent of the Music Man StingRay bass

  • Neck: Maple neck with 22 frets and tilt adjustment (eliminates the need for shims)

  • Fretboard: 7.5” radius with vintage-style frets (Sabre II specific)

  • Body: Ash or poplar, depending on the production batch

The Sabre II is the second guitar ever released by Music Man, following the StingRay. The main difference between the Sabre I and II lies in the neck: the Sabre II features a more traditional 7.5" radius and smaller frets, offering a vintage feel that's perfect for players who prefer a classic-style neck.

If you're looking for a unique, vintage guitar with premium build quality, innovative electronics, and a connection to Leo Fender’s legacy, the Sabre II is a fantastic choice.
