Ken Valentino

Ken Valentino

Ken started teaching beginner lessons at 15 and started teaching at Danny D's at 17. He has been fortunate enough to have music as his sole income for all that time (except one Christmas when he played Santa Claus at Baybrook Mall just to see what it was like). He has enjoyed playing numerous instruments, but as of now has focused mainly on guitar, bass, vocals, banjo, mandolin, and uke.

As far as styles he has focused more on Blues, Rock, Country, Jazz, Bluegrass, Celtic, Metal and Funk. His teaching style is to "have fun to get things done" and to "work on how to practice as opposed to just practicing more". He believes the advantage of one on one lessons is to tailor fit the style, technique, and even song selections to your goals.

George

George Elbel

George has been playing guitar and bass for over 40 years. He has been teaching since 1980. Several of his students have gone on to teach also. George is very familiar with all styles of rock, country, jazz and classical. George is great with kids and the kiddos love to come jam with Mr. George. If you are really into jazz and/or want an everymans approach to theory, George is your guy.

Tim Salter

Tim Salter has been playing Guitar for over 2 decades. He loves all styles of music but has really focused on Blues, Jazz, R-&-B, Classical, Old School Rock-n-Roll, and Real Country. After Graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA... Tim lived in Nashville, TN for 5 years, where learning the craft of Songwriting and Improvisation took full attention... (Not to mention having the grand opportunity of sharing the stage with many World-Class musicians and Performers.) Since being back in Texas, Tim has taught Guitar & Bass Lessons and Performed on many stages. Whether reading chord charts in an Orchestra Pit for a school Musical, backing up talented artist like Mary Sarah (finalist on NBC's "The Voice"), Leading his Blues/Jazz Trio for Sunday Brunch at Hearsay in Houston or performing bedside at M.D. Anderson and Texas Children's Hospital... there isn't a stage too big or too small and I would Love to prepare you for the spot light. Tim's goal as a teacher is to get you playing asap in the style of your choice, all the while introducing a bit of music theory as well as enjoying a bit of Music Appreciation/History. Each student learns to grasp concepts in their own way at their own pace and your private lesson will be tailored to fit your needs.

Kenny was one of the teachers at our store for many years and a beloved member of the Guitar Hacienda family. He was an inspiring and encouraging teacher, and was President of Rock Camp Live. A local legend; Kenny has written, recorded, and rocked with numerous world class artists, including ZZ Top, Jaco Pastorious, Jerry Lee Lewis, John Lee Hooker, Willie Nelson, Roy Head, John Mayall, and Wayne Cochran just to name a few. The Houston Chronicle called him one of Houston's greatest guitarists'. He will be missed at our store and throughout the music world.

Even though the song is over, The melody will always live on
