EVH

Since 1978, Edward Van Halen has transformed the guitar world. A true innovator in rock and metal, Eddie didn’t just play guitar—he redefined it. From Van Halen's debut album, he changed the way guitar can be played with the track, "Eruption". Throughout the 80s, 90s, and even up to the present day, Eddie's popularity only grew. Something that never stopped growing for him was his hunger for tone chasing. He was always evolving. He threw so many people off of his rabbit trail to just keep his tone a secret.

In the early 90s, Eddie got together with Peavey to develop an amplifier. It was loud, it was aggressive, and it was huge! That amp is known as the 5150. Around 2004, Eddie left Peavey and formed his own brand, EVH Gear and by the time 2007 rolled around, Eddie had the 5150 III up and running and it sounded better than all the previous versions. Still used by countless of metal and rock musicians to date.

Offering everything from compact lunchbox heads to 100-watt powerhouses built for stadium stages. These amps really pack a punch. Even different versions like the 5150 III Stealth and the 5150 III EL34's sound absolutely amazing! The 5150 Iconic is an EVH amp at an affordable price. Designed by renowned amp engineer and the original builder of the 5150 amps in the 90s, James Brown, these amps call back to that original 5150 while also including the modern features of the newer amps like a noise gate, different distortion voices, reverb and even a speaker emulated XLR out.

After Eddie’s tragic passing in October 2020, the EVH legacy continues under the guidance of his son Wolfgang and longtime collaborator Matt Bruck. Before his passing, Eddie and Matt carefully planned a long-term future for the brand—one that’s thriving today.

Eddie's spirit lives on in every EVH amplifier. From the craftsmanship to the tone, you can feel the passion in every note. We're proud to honor his legacy here at Guitar Hacienda.
