MESA/Boogie

Mesa Boogie has certainly earned their place in gear history as one of the greatest amp brands of all time. From the soulful music of Santana, to the heavy music of Lamb of God. Mesa Boogie has you covered in any genre of music.

The name Boogie was inspired by Carlos Santana after he played a modified Fender Princeton out of a shop Randall Smith co-owned called Prune Music. Randall took note of the name and created his company, Mesa Engineering. Everyone was impressed with Mesa amps in the late 70s and early 80s, from players like Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Carlos Santana. They eventually gained a lot of success in the 80s with players like Steve Lukather, Prince, Metallica, Mark Knopfler, and John Sykes using their amps. These amps were different. They were modern amps for modern players. They had a lot of gain at such a low volume. The Mark 2C+ is a perfect example of being a versatile amp. It could do everything from blues music to thrash metal just by changing a few settings. The graphic eq was another massive feature in the Mark series and it became a standard. Later in the 90s, the Dual Rectifier completely changed the game. With an enormous amount of gain, it had a different kind of sound to it. It was thick and aggressive sounding, and it was LOUD!

Today, Mesa Boogie has created a legacy like no other. Players like John Petrucci, Andy Timmons, Angel Vivaldi, Andy Summers, Nick Hexum, Brad Gillis and so many more players all use these amazing amps (John Petrucci even has his own signature amp called the JP2C, which is a modernized version of Petrucci's favorite HRG 2C+). Mesa continues to innovate with amps such as the California Tweed, the Filmore, the Triple Crown, and even the Subway series bass heads too. All hand crafted and built in their factory in Petaluma, California. Randall Smith and his team put the hard work in for you to help satisfy your tonal needs. If you want a modern, versatile amp that can do anything you want, then a Mesa is for you!
