Check out this used 1981 Effects DRV MMHMM Edition. This pedal has been tested and works good. The pedal is in good condition. This pedal does not come in the original box.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Reliant K's album MMHMM, they released this special edition DRV pedal in collaboration with 1981 Inventions. As the guitarist for Relient K, (Matt Hoopes) wanted to do something truly meaningful and personal for this milestone.
-
All-new DRV2 circuit – smoother mids, warmer tone, and tighter low-end. Subtle but meaningful improvements.
-
New enclosure – slightly taller, deeper, and more squared-off to better showcase the artwork.
-
Artwork by Karen Schierhorn & Grant Wilson of Big Ear Pedals, inspired by MMHMM’s original artwork by Greg Leppert.
-
SMT (Surface Mount) circuit design – redesigned by John Snyder (Electronic Audio Experiments). It's quieter and more consistent, with the option to run at 9V or 18V.
-
Limited edition – not mass-produced, and hand-signed by both Matts.
Compared to the original DRV, the DRV2 offers:
-
Smoother midrange
-
Warmer overall tone
-
More low-end “thump” for palm-muted riffs
-
Lower noise floor, without sacrificing the distortion character
This release blends celebration, nostalgia, tone, and art—a true crossover between Relient K and 1981 Inventions. If you're a fan of the band, a tone chaser, or a pedal collector, this is a unique piece worth checking out.
pedal is hand-signed by Matt Thiessen and Matt Hoopes of Relient K.
