Here’s a true gem from Gibson’s golden era: a 1976 Les Paul Custom that’s been set up, plays great, and oozes vintage mojo.
This guitar comes with its original Gibson "chainsaw" case, which is in very good condition. Inside the case, you’ll find a touch of history—a vintage Les Paul string package tucked into the accessory compartment.
Cosmetically, the guitar shows the honest wear you'd expect from nearly five decades of play—light scratches, small dings, and some binding wear on the headstock edges. There are a few black marks on the headstock sides, likely from resting on a wall hanger over the years. All signs of a life well played, without any abuse.
The hardware is original and remarkably clean for its age. The bridge and tailpiece show minor corrosion but still look great. Original pickups are intact and in excellent condition—visually clean and sonically rich. The knobs are in good shape and function as they should.
As for construction, this Les Paul Custom features:
-
A three-piece maple top
-
A two-piece mahogany body with a thin maple layer sandwiched in between
-
A three-piece maple neck with a five-piece maple headstock
-
Maple fretboard with frets in great condition
Weighing in at 10.3 lbs, this Les Paul delivers that solid feel and sustain that vintage Customs are known for.
Please note: no original documentation is included in the case.
If you’re after a classic '70s Gibson that’s been loved but well taken care of—and still has plenty of music left in it—this 1976 Les Paul Custom is ready to shine again.
