The MU55 Masterworks ukes are made from all solid bamboo, a wood that grows quickly in abundance and is in no danger of depleting, making them beautifully crafted and beautifully planet-friendly.
Solid Bamboo as a tonewood sounds fantastic for a ukulele, and it’s also very affordable, which allows Alvarez to deliver an all-solid, stellar sounding professional ukulele at such value. Alvarez ukuleles have been designed to create an open-sounding and instantly responsive instrument with great projection, and a warm, bell-like voicing that you will love.
All of Alvarez's ukuleles are constructed with a dovetail neck joint for optimal strength and transfer of energy between the neck and body. The bracing is minimal and considered, and the build is accurate and stable. The responsiveness of the soundbox is enhanced with a solid “slotted” bridge, which enhances response and helps to make string changes easier and quicker. The MU55CE is fitted with the AUE 20 EQ with built in tuner.
