Here’s a rare chance to own an iconic piece of guitar history — the Ibanez AH-10, the signature model of legendary jazz fusion guitarist Allan Holdsworth. This guitar has been professionally setup and tested. It plays great and sounds fantastic, delivering the smooth articulation and fast response that made Holdsworth’s tone so revered.

Cosmetically, the guitar shows its age with scratches, dings, scuffs, and wear on the body and headstock (see photos), but there is no noticeable fretwear, and all blemishes are purely aesthetic. Structurally and sonically, it’s in excellent shape.

  • Body: Solid basswood with tone chamber routed beneath the pickups – lightweight and resonant

  • Neck: Maple bolt-on neck with 25.5" scale length

  • Fingerboard: Ebony, 17” radius, 22 frets with dot inlays

  • Pickup: Single custom-made humbucker mounted in black pickguard

  • Bridge: Specially configured Powerocker tremolo with short 150mm trem arm

  • Tuners: Smooth Tuner II machine heads

  • Controls: Volume and tone with Tek Grip knobs

  • Headstock: Unique spider logo designed by Allan Holdsworth

Condition: Good (Cosmetic wear, fully functional)
Weight: 7.7 lbs
Includes: Guitar only – no case included

Introduced in 1985 and discontinued in 1987, the AH-10 is notable not just as a signature model, but as a pioneer — one of the first mass-produced guitars to use basswood as a body material. At Holdsworth’s request, Ibanez sought out lighter woods, eventually selecting basswood for its tonal properties and screw-holding ability. This innovation went on to influence the design of other Ibanez classics like the JEM777 and RG series.

This is a rare and collectible guitar that still holds up as a great player’s instrument today. Whether you're a fan of Allan Holdsworth, a collector of vintage Ibanez models, or just someone who loves unique tone machines, this AH-10 is a standout.
